The No. 502 and No. 504 are both open circuit, fixed temperature thermostatic-type automatic heat detectors designed for ceiling mounting. They are intended to be used in conjunction with other automatic fire detection devices to form a system of early warn- ing fire detection. The No. 502 [135°F (57°C) trip] is for use where ceiling temperatures do not exceed 100°F (38°C) and the No. 504 [190°F (88°C) trip] where ceiling temperatures exceed 100°F (38°C) but not 150°F (65°C). Take care to select the appropriate detector for installation to prevent false alarms.
